VINELink Pender County Coverage
North Carolina's official NC SAVAN program is the Statewide Automated Victim Assistance and Notification service. The state links it to every North Carolina jail plus Adult Corrections. That wording covers Pender County Jail too. No separate Pender feed-status page exists.
NC SAVAN covers county-jail inmates, state prisoners, probationers, parolees, and registered sex offenders. It handles custody status and notification channels. Think status, not photos. It is not a booking-photo gallery. Nor does it replace the Sheriff roster or promise every arrest appears. For Pender County Jail charges and any booking photo, start with the official Sheriff inmate lookup. The state NC SAVAN page names the registration path.

This state page anchors North Carolina coverage and lists the SAVAN hotline.
Check a Pender Arrest on VINELink
The site runs on JavaScript. Labels and field order can change, so follow the live form rather than expecting a fixed layout.
- Open the North Carolina VINELink route or follow the registration link from NC SAVAN.
- Select North Carolina if the application asks for a state.
- Search by the person’s name or identifying number. Supply only the details requested by the live form.
- Compare identifiers carefully when several people share a similar name.
- Open the matching custody record and read the facility and current status.
- Register from that record if notification options are available.
A match is a custody-state record. It is not a full arrest report. Arrest date, held-for agency, hold reasons, and any booking photo live on the Sheriff roster. The Pender County arrest resource explains the path into court records, and the North Carolina search landing page is the entry point.

The live application may redirect or rearrange fields, so use its current prompts.
What Pender VINELink Results Mean
VINELink's core value is status updates and event notices. Exact fields vary with the covered record and the current interface.
| Result concept | Practical meaning |
|---|---|
| Identity or offender number | Helps distinguish the intended person from a similar name. |
| Custody status | Reports the state supplied by a participating jail or corrections system. |
| Facility | Indicates where the covered system reports the person, subject to data timing. |
| Release event | Can trigger a notice when the covered system reports release. |
| Transfer event | Can trigger a notice, but continuing alerts require registration again after transfer. |
| Escape or capture event | Critical covered events that can generate notifications. |
Do not expect a full charge narrative, court disposition, or booking photograph from a Pender result. A status can lag the actual event. For urgent questions, call Jail Division at 910-259-1353.
Register for Pender Custody Alerts
Registration is free and can stay anonymous. North Carolina's official FAQ lists phone, email, text, and TTY alert channels, depending on the route and the event.
- Find the correct person in VINELink.
- Choose the available notification or registration action on that record.
- Select a phone number, email address, or other supported channel. Multiple contacts may be accepted.
- Create the required four-digit PIN. Keep it available to confirm receipt of phone notifications.
- Complete the live confirmation step and retain the registration details.
- When notified of a transfer, locate the new record and register again for continued alerts.
Phone alerts usually land during daytime hours. Critical release, escape, or capture events can come at any hour. The FAQ repeats ordinary calls every two hours for up to 24 hours. Critical calls repeat every 30 minutes. Email arrives whenever an event posts. The current VINELink application carries the registration workflow, and these schedules are procedures, not a promise that every event reached the source system immediately.

Contact options and the PIN process appear during registration.
Pender VINELink Coverage Limits
NC SAVAN ignores precinct and local police-facility custody. Juveniles, mental-health facilities, and people who bond at the magistrate level without a jail booking stay out too. So an empty VINELink result proves nothing. The arrest may simply never have reached a covered custody system.
Federal custody needs other tools. The Federal Bureau of Prisons and immigration detention use their own separate BOP and ICE locators. NC SAVAN is neither. The NC DAC offender search covers state prison, probation, and parole, not a same-day Pender jail roster.
Re-Register After a Pender Transfer
A transfer notice does not forward itself. NC SAVAN tells registrants to register again once a person leaves a county jail. The receiving facility or state-corrections record then carries later events. Skip that step and the alerts can stop cold.
The Pender sequence stays simple. The Sheriff roster gives current jail details, and VINELink sends covered event notices. A transfer triggers a new registration. State prison or supervision moves the record to NC DAC, while court filings settle how the case ends.
NC SAVAN Phone Access
Skip the website entirely if you prefer. Call 1-877-NC SAVAN, which is 1-877-627-2826. The line runs 24 hours a day. Registration can stay anonymous, though alerts need a valid notification destination and a PIN. Keep identifying details ready when you call. Verify that the record on the line truly belongs to the person you mean.
Respond to a Pender VINE Alert
Read the event type first. A transfer notice means the custody source changed, not that release happened. A release notice reports what the covered system sent, and its timing can trail the real event. An escape or capture message is critical. Never approach the person.
After a transfer, register again. Save the responsible facility's contact details, keep a separate safety plan, and call 911 if danger is immediate. VINELink and NC SAVAN inform, but neither guarantees safety or replaces law enforcement.
Pender Roster Versus VINELink
Each tool answers a different question about a Pender County arrest. Zuercher shows the live county custody picture: the booking row, arrest date, and the agency holding the person. It also lists hold reasons, bond text, and a photo when one exists. VINELink handles status and alerts. North Carolina eCourts tracks the filed case itself.
A name that drops off Zuercher may still show up in VINELink. It might read as released or transferred. Blank results in both systems do not mean no arrest happened. Call the jail instead of guessing. For older official paperwork, Pender NextRequest is the county's records route. The portal publishes no guaranteed photo fee or turnaround.
Choose the Correct Custody System
Jurisdiction limits matter here. NC SAVAN covers North Carolina county jails and Adult Corrections, but it stops short of the federal system. Anyone serving a federal sentence belongs in the Bureau of Prisons locator, searched by name or register number. Immigration custody falls to the ICE Online Detainee Locator. Neither federal search is a Pender booking feed, and neither locator offers a public county booking-photo field.
State custody is its own track. The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction search reaches state prisoners, probationers, and parolees. Its records go back to 1972. It excludes county jails by design. A Pender County arrest will not appear there just because it happened in North Carolina. The state system becomes useful after someone enters state custody or supervision.
Local coverage has gaps too. NC SAVAN skips precincts, local police facilities, juveniles, and mental-health facilities, plus anyone who bonds out before booking. Pender's public Zuercher setup also hides juveniles. A blank search can be legitimate even after real police contact. Direct verification stays essential.
Match the tool to the custody state. Choose Pender Zuercher for current county custody and VINELink for status alerts. Use NC DAC for state custody or supervision, BOP for federal prison, and ICE for immigration holds. eCourts handles the case file. Clean boundaries keep one empty result from being misread as the final word everywhere else.
VINELink Status Is Not Guilt
VINELink tracks custody, nothing more. A status update reflects where a person is held, and release can happen for many procedural reasons. For later hearings and case outcomes, check eCourts.
